Not only is Mid-North dotted
with coveted landmark homes and buildings… some dating
back before the Chicago Fire of 1871… our neighborhood
association is surrounded by a cultural wonderland.

our streets.
John Barleycorn Memorial
Pub is a famous historic spot with its summertime beer
garden. Carnival Grocery is an independent old-time neighborhood
grocery, specializing in fine produce, meats, wine and a terrific
takeout area for prepared to-go items.
We even have our own boutique European style hotel at the
charming renovated landmark Belden-Stratford
Hotel, overlooking Lincoln Park across from the Zoo and
Conservatory.
Chicago Public Schools Abraham
Lincoln Elementary and Lincoln
Park High School make us proud with wonderful special
programs. The elementary school offers an International Baccalaureate
(IB), a French-American Program, and a special Greenhouse
project that will be a state-of-the-art learning center for
horticulture and science.
Lincoln Park High was ranked 90th in the nation by a recent
US News and World Report.
Francis
W. Parker is a prestigious private school from pre-K to
12th grade. For over 100 years, their education has offered
an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, resulting in a
challenging and meaningful educational experience.
Our Planning and Zoning Committee evaluates all proposed local
building projects and renovations to ensure compatibility
with our charming landmark neighborhood. And we work closely
with our Alderman,Vi Daley, regarding everything pertaining
to our vital Mid-North area.
Our major fundraising event, the Chicago Summerfest in Lincoln
Park, enables us to support our community’s neighborhood
schools, program funding, art workshops and initiatives, and
charities that become our grant recipients.
